Which AI assistants work with hireinator?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers: Claude on the web, desktop and mobile (as a custom connector), ChatGPT in developer mode on plans that support custom connectors, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, and other MCP clients. Most sign in with OAuth; scripts and self-hosted agents can use an API key instead.

Who can connect an AI assistant to hireinator?

Company admins and interviewers of a company whose plan includes integrations: the Scale plan, the integrations add-on, or early access. The plan is checked when you connect, and a later downgrade does not cut off an assistant that is already connected.

Can the assistant email candidates or spend credits without asking?

Accepted Answer

Tools that email a candidate or teammate, spend credits, delete something or change settings are marked as needing confirmation, and Claude and ChatGPT ask you before running them. The assistant also acts only as you, with only the permissions you ticked when you connected.

Does hireinator store my conversations with the assistant?

Accepted Answer

No. What the assistant reads from hireinator goes to your AI provider under your own account and their terms. hireinator stores only the connection itself, with its tokens kept as one-way hashes, never the conversation.

Can the assistant buy credits or change our plan?

Accepted Answer

No. It can read the credit balance, the credit history, the plan and usage, and gives you the link to Plans & Credits in hireinator; buying credits and changing the plan happen in your browser.

How do I disconnect an assistant?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect it under Account, Security, Connected apps in hireinator (company admins can also disconnect any app in the company under Integrations, Connected apps), or remove it in the assistant. Changing your password or being removed from the company disconnects every app automatically.

Does using an assistant cost anything extra?

Connecting is part of the integrations surface (the Scale plan or the integrations add-on). Tools spend credits exactly as the app does: when a candidate starts a test, and for resume screening beyond the free monthly allowance. Reading results, moving candidates and changing settings spend nothing.
